About Donor Information Sharing With Campaigns
ActBlue is a fundraising platform for political campaigns.
By default, ActBlue shares the contact information (name, email address, phone number if any is provided) of the donors with the campaigns being donated to.
ActBlue provides a checkbox to fundraisers like Super Swing Districts to provide a pop-up to allow donors to opt out of this sharing.
We know many of our donors are privacy-conscious and do not want to sign up for political spam. So we have always checked this checkbox, as our slate comprises many different campaigns, who may share your contact information onwards.
However, this year we have had an issue where this pop-up has not been shown to donors, and therefore your contact information may be automatically shared with all of the campaigns.
We have been in touch with ActBlue technical support about this, and we are continuing to follow up, but we have not yet received a resolution.
If you are concerned about sharing your contact information with the individual campaigns, we would recommend NOT sharing a phone number with ActBlue (it is optional), and providing a unique email alias for this donation, rather than your primary email address, so you can block any further communication to that address in the future. You can find technical information on how to create an email alias here:
Email Aliases at PrivacyGuides.
Super Swing Districts and Candidates 2026
Contributing to this slate will help these SuperSwingDistrict candidates get out the vote
in key districts in swing states helping win Democratic majorities in
-
7 state legislative chambers
(and seats in others)
-
US House
(helping win 15 of the closest districts + boosting some longer shot candidates)
-
US Senate
(supporting most Democrats in close contests)
& help win the closest state government contests for
state supreme courts, governors, and other state executive positions,
including environmental policy positions that don’t get much attention:
Arizona Corporation Commission, Georgia Public Service Commission,
Iowa Agriculture Secretary, and Texas Railroad Commissioner.
& impact county elections: defeating an ICE-ally sheriff in Alamance County, NC,
winning countywide offices in Tarrant County (Fort Worth) TX, and majorities on
county boards in Iowa and Ohio, and the Cobb County, GA, School Board.
How it works
In geographically overlapping swing districts in swing states —
Super Swing Districts — each voter casts votes
in multiple swing elections up and down the same ballot.
For example, this year in some Iowa precincts, each voter can cast 9 different votes
for Democrats to replace Republicans in
Overlapping districts
- State House of Representatives
- State Senate
- US House of Representatives
and in statewide elections
- US Senate
- Governor & Lieutenant Governor
- Attorney General
- Secretary of State
- Treasurer
- Secretary of Agriculture
and in a 10th tossup election, keep the State Auditor’s office in Democratic hands.
Coattails and Reverse Coattails
Traditional coattails:
high profile candidates attract supporters to the polls, who then vote for the party’s
downballot candidates.
Reverse coattails:
downballot candidates bring friends, neighbors, and folks they meet campaigning door-to-door
to the polls, who then vote for the party’s other candidates.
Money matters more down ballot
State legislative elections cost about 1/10th of a congressional election, 1% of a US Senate
election.
Candidates on the Super Swing Districts slate are working hard to get out the vote, supporting
other Democrats.
Overview of Super Swing Districts and Candidates, 2026
A diverse set of 22 candidates, in 12 states (AZ, FL, GA, IA, KS, MI, MN, NC, OH, PA, TX, WI).
- 18 for State House of Representatives and WI Assembly.
- 3 for State Senate — in 3 states where majority is close to within reach.
- 1 county district candidate — in Tarrant County, TX, where Republicans are shutting
down 1/3 of polling places to discourage voters. Nydia Cárdenas is canvassing daily to encourage
people and get out the vote in a district that overlaps TX State Senate district 9, where
Taylor Rehmet won a special election this year, by 15 points, a 32-point gain from the 2024
Presidential election.
